Sounds pretty bleh to me actually. Teleporting costs 500sp and only acolytes can do it because creamy cards don't drop? No kafra warps? I'm surprised they let you make more than 1 character on the account (although they didn't mention that now that I think about it) with the way their free service is going/sucking.

Maintenance today improved teleport SP cost, and kafra warps are available in the two main capitals, Prontera/Juno. Right now there's a few hundred people on so its off to a pretty good start.

Wow. Gonna try it out but geez. They're really making you fight in order to be free. Everything costs much more, halved drops, 75% sell prices, tons of items are no longer drops and are just NPC-sold, you lose 3% exp on death (Worst part of the whole deal).

Don't see all that working out very well, honestly. And no Kafra Warps/teleporting? I just don't understand their reasoning for that. That's just a timesink, and on a free server that's utterly pointless.

I might give it a try out though I dout I will be able to stick there very long their are alot of negitives they throw in there just to make it free even refining is alot expensiver and with lower rates I would probally just get to bored.

The point of this free server was to stop bot farming on main servers, (no more free trial accounts) and they are trying to avoid that on teh free server as well. By nerfing teleport to cast an extrodinate amount of SP they are essentually telling botters that all their money will have to go on flywings, so it will hardly make it worth it.

Well, lone_wolf has a point, and it does make sense, but some things are still very messed up, because even though there are thousands of botters there are also thousands of players, so...

Personally I thought they would do something like this a long time ago to compete with free private servers

1. They is no renewal on iRO yet.

2. This server is still much 'easier' than the kRO free server!

I disagree, at least on the Baphomet server there's Kafra warps and teleport.

Baphomet has increased teleport costs too as far as I know. Also it only has 0.5x rates, Valkyrie has 0.75x rates and it has 5% death penalty, Valkyrie only has 3% death penalty.

There are still warps, albeit only from prontera. It seems they're likely to compromise on this point, and others, as the server mechanics have been eased nicely and its only been open for 5 days. Server population over the weekend was over 500 players, not a bad turnout since the launch was fairly unannounced. The server appears to be growing daily.

Official opening is tomorrow, the 30th. This seems to be a trial period for some last minute feedback.

Leveling so far isn't too bad, if you grab a party. It is however, quite difficult to get money. On average you make money about 37.5% (50% drops, for 75% sale price) as fast as on a premium server, AND certain key items cost far more (3-5x more), so obtaining money will be a slow process. Getting the money for rebirth will be a whore and a half.

In a surprise announcement, gravity raised experience and drop rates of the free server to regular 1x rates, but also adjusted the pay servers to 1.25x.

there are some isp's in our country that block connections to some websites (eg. iro.Ragnarokonline.Com, ragnarok.Co.Kr, ragnarok2.Co.Kr). I myself experience that with PLDT, but SmartBRO, Globe Broadband and Digitel can open the sites without requiring a proxy...

Although sometimes, there are days that i can access the site with PLDT... That really sucks!

IRO is nearly impossible to play if you are from Europe like me. At least the way Gravity goes is crappy. Renewal on Kro fucks up the whole System of Ragnarok and makes the Game look like any random mmorpg.

@Topic, I guess Valkyrie Server deserves a try from us here in America(And i mean North, Center and South America), and all the other players from other countries that can connect to iRO servers. This relatively new Free to play servers might be the last chance many of us may have to play and enjoy the actual and "real" RO style. I'm typing -"real"- because, in my opinion, we lost, what I think was, the real RO since the rebirth/transcendent classes(and many skills), came out.

@LodrikBadric's (and many other community members's) opinion. With the changes renewal system brings untill today, RO is going from a Unique Game to a random, a Boring, a Simple, a Warc... Oops, sorry I didn't want to write these four characters of the alphabet together; I guess Brainstorm will be pretty happy when he get to see this misspelling I did. Anyway, it is true, RO is going from Unique to random, to simple, to PATHETIC; and I don't want you to flame me because this IS MY VERY OWN and SINGULAR opinion.

PS: We just need to "get rid" of the crybabies and some "sissy" people to make RO better than it is right now, and obiously, fix some skills, monsters, etc.

Yeah Renewal changes the game from unique to 'like any other successful MMORPG just with worse graphics'. But after having played RO for... TOO LONG, I don't really care much anymore. Unique isn't very unique anymore when you've played it several years.

Maybe if you play from overseas you can see some lag... the servers are quite stable and responsive however, and telling people not to play because you lag is pretty one-sided...

I heard from many people already that this server lags like hell, however none of them was from the US.

The only thing Gravity is killing is it's own servers. The renewal is laughable at best, and I'd imagine a heavily watered-down free server(or two) wouldn't make the deal any better.

Who is the mail provider that you are using. If it is Yahoo check your spam settings. If it is Hotmail or Google then good luck.

I think what they've done is pretty clever actually.... People start off on the Val server... Think "Ohh. I want it to be quicker.. And to cost less.. Lets pay... then I don't have to worry".. Either that, or they're smart and go onto private servers. Its worrying how many private servers are actually coming out... I'm suprised Gravity havn't actually started sueing and bringing them down yet.. Either that or they have and I havn't heard of it?..

Still, they kept a few of the good parts. But at the end of the day, Private servers are normally better anyway, because A. If you ask for support, you'll get it. (Unless its not a good private server) and B. Custom items! Items that EVERYONE wants. Such as the Mario hat! (No, im not personally saying I want it, im not saying everyone else wants it. I'm using it as an example )

Anyway, I just think Gravity have set them selfs up for a huge downfall. Its the same as Sulake, they're dieing and they know it. Private servers are becoming huge, and pretty much wiping out the official server nowadays. I think the only one that stays alive is WoW because they have the money to campaign it, and also bring out disks in shops. I mean sure, downloadings easy. But for some people, they'd just prefer to buy the disk.
